Chezky's Story
Chezky was a great learner. He dedicated himself to learning long hours, finishing mesechtas, and davening with intense focus.
Chezky was also a great builder. From a young age, he found his outlet in creation, taking raw wood and turning it into shtenders, furniture, and anything else he could think up. It gave him an unshakeable confidence. He walked differently knowing he could take something broken and fix it, or take nothing and make something tangible.
When Chezky was diagnosed, and even through his medical treatments, fixing pain no teenager should know, Chezky kept on building. It helped him carry on. His hands and his mind worked in perfect harmony.
Chezky was niftar at nineteen. But he taught us a lesson we'll never forget: building a chair from scratch, and then sitting down to learn in it, is a powerful thing.
